I received a beautiful sympathy card from Pete's aunt and uncle last week. The card contains a sentiment that I have found to be incredibly appropriate for me and my situation:

PLEASE NOTE:
Please do not add additional dinner delivery dates to the calendar...just keep moving forward week-by-week until you find a date that no one has grabbed yet. The dates on the calendar were provided by Pete and Julie, who can only eat so much at a time! :)

Julie, Shannon & I and the kids are coming to visit Judson in May. I'm not sure how close to your surgery this will be. So we will either be walking with you, or we will be hoisting up your hospital bed and carrying you up to the top of Mt. Tam.
