Living in the Moment

There is something so beautiful about the way that children live in the moment. They never think about (much less worry about!) what is going to happen in 5 years, or in a month, or even tomorrow. They focus instead on how they feel right now, right at this moment. And sometimes the moment is good and happy and sometimes it's bad and frustrating, but either way it's real. It's not full of "what if's" and fear, as it is for adults.

I think that this is why I am most at peace when I am with my children these days. They keep me in the moment, which at the end of the day, is really all that any of us are guaranteed.
